Abstract


Differences in punctuation systems of Bulgarian and Russian languages are studied in the article. They are mainly related to those retreats from the syntactic principle of punctuation that lay the foundation of many Bulgarian rules. In its development, the Bulgarian punctuation system is getting ever distanced from German type systems built on the grammatical basis, one of which is the Russian punctuation system.
